From the elegant streets of Cureghem to the garden cities of La Roue, Bon Air and Moortebeek, every address in Anderlecht can have its Christmas tree delivered, free of charge. According to IBSA’s Zoom, nearly three in four residential buildings here are terraced houses, and more than half date from 1919 to 1961. Some of these houses have been divided up into flats: when choosing your tree, look at the height of the room, not the façade.

From Le Meir to Le Peterbos, the right tree height

If your ceiling sits at 2.50 m, choose a tree of between 175 and 200 cm, and go one size smaller if it stays below 2.40 m. An Art Deco villa in Le Meir facing Parc Astrid, a townhouse near Place de la Vaillance or a bel-étage house between Chaussée de Ninove and Chaussée de Mons: measure before you order. The Nordmann fir grows up to 4 m, with needles so soft they don’t prickle; the Norway spruce stops at 3.50 m, but it alone fills the room with its scent.

In the tall blocks of Le Peterbos or the blocks of flats of Scherdemael, set among parks, the tree arrives netted and the driver brings it to your door; in practice, he often takes it up the stairs, though nothing guarantees it. To set it up, our home service takes over: on quote, it puts the tree up in your home, decorates it to your taste and picks it up after the holidays.

In Neerpede, in the Pede valley, Anderlecht keeps a rural face: square-plan farms, fields and old country lanes around the Luizenmolen, a windmill rebuilt identically in 1999, according to Brussels Environment. Vert Sapin’s trees grow in another part of the Belgian countryside, about a hundred kilometres from Brussels: they are bought from a certified organic grower, a family working the same plots for three generations. Would you rather pick your own? Our Etterbeek stall, on Place Saint-Antoine, is the nearest: we wrap it for you there, and a small one will travel home to Anderlecht in a car boot.

Your frequently asked questions

Can I get a Christmas tree delivered in Anderlecht?
Yes, delivery of your Christmas tree is free everywhere in Anderlecht (1070), with no minimum order: Cureghem, Scheut, Le Meir, Veeweyde, Le Peterbos, Bon Air or Neerpede. When you order, you choose the delivery day and the time slot that suits you; then, in Scheut as in Le Peterbos, the driver places the tree in your hands, wrapped in its net, outside your home. Nobody in that day? We’ll get back in touch to arrange a redelivery, free of charge.
What size of Christmas tree suits a house in Anderlecht?
It all depends on your ceiling: if it is at 2.50 m, a model of 175 to 200 cm is what we recommend; under a ceiling lower than 2.40 m, go for the size below. Go by the room rather than the façade: in Anderlecht, some terraced houses contain several homes. An Art Deco villa in Le Meir, a family house in the Bon Air garden city or a block of flats in Le Peterbos: measure before you order. For a taller room, the Nordmann fir reaches 4 m, the Norway spruce 3.50 m.
Christmas tree collection in Anderlecht: where do you put yours out after Christmas?
On the pavement outside your home, on the day of the garden waste collection (green bags) in your area: in Anderlecht, collecting real Christmas trees is the job of Bruxelles-Propreté, as part of its regional collection round. Remove the pot and the decorations; the wooden cross stand can stay on. According to Bruxelles-Propreté, much of what is collected then ends up composted. For your other garden waste, the Demets Recypark lies within the municipality.
