From the Moeraske to the E40, on both sides of Boulevard Léopold III, Christmas tree delivery is free throughout Evere. Your festive shopping may well happen around Place de la Paix or Avenue Henri Conscience, two of its three shopping hubs according to the municipality. Your tree, though, doesn’t take the tram: you set its day and time slot in the basket, and it is brought to your door, netted (see our Delivery page).
From Bas-Evere to Haut-Evere: what height of tree?
According to IBSA, two thirds of residential buildings are terraced houses, like the rows of bel-étage houses in Bas-Evere; IBSA also notes a high proportion of flats, up to the large 1960s slab blocks of Haut-Evere. Bel-étage or slab block, measure first: below 2.40 m of ceiling height, take one size smaller; at 2.50 m, our advice is a tree of 175 to 200 cm. In a block of flats, the driver stops at the front entrance; our home service sets it up and decorates it in your home, on quote.
Some hundred kilometres separate Evere from the land where our trees grow. We buy them from a certified organic grower, a Belgian family that has worked this land for three generations. To choose between Nordmann fir and Norway spruce in person: Place Saint-Antoine, in Etterbeek, is home to our nearest stall. Once wrapped, the small sizes fit in a car boot.
After the holidays, with no Recypark in the municipality
Evere has no Recypark and, according to the municipality, its waste depot is no longer open to the public. That leaves the Bruxelles-Propreté collection: on garden waste day, prop the tree against your front wall, without its pot or decorations; only a wooden cross, such as our wooden cross stand, may stay. A large share of the trees then goes to Bruxelles-Compost, says Bruxelles-Propreté. More tips in our article on life after the holidays.
